Volunteer Opportunities

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” - Matthew 18:20

Bethany Lutheran Church has a variety of volunteer opportunities to serve the church family and make use of God-given talents.

Altar Guild
Make the altar beautiful for Worship. Activities include decoration and communion set-up.  

Choir
Make a joyful noise to the LORD! Join us Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. for practice.

CLCA Early Childhood Education
Help is needed in various ways. Current needs include drivers for field trips, story readers, and classroom paperwork helpers.

Cleaning Team
Keep the building clean and ready for the week! Enlist your family or partner up with another Bethany member. Expect to clean around twice a year. 

Decorating for Christmas and Easter
Assist with the decorating &de-decorating of the sanctuary and narthex for Christmas and Easter.  Work is traditionally done on the Saturday before the 1st Sunday in Advent, the 1st Saturday in January, and the Saturday before Easter.  Work typically takes a couple hours in the morning.

Dorcas Society
Join this women’s group as they gather together in fellowship. Work together on various volunteer projects that support the congregation.

Greeter
Assist with welcoming people to worship and introduce first-time visitors to the pastor.

Kingdom Kids (Sunday School)
Train up the little ones in the way they should go. Teach elementary-age students between Sunday services.

Groundskeeping
Maintain the building and the property. Activities include lawn maintenance, lighting work, and other projects to keep the property-up to-date.

Library Committee
Keep the church library tidy and well-stocked. Work with others to sort through books and maintain an orderly library.

Meals on Wheels
Provide meals to the elderly across the community. General volunteer time is during the Thanksgiving Season.

Offering Counters
Make sure the offering envelopes are sorted and accounted for. Counting takes place after the worship service.

Ushering
Be part of a Sunday or Thursday usher team.  Greet people as they enter and leave the sanctuary, hand out bulletins and other information, collect the offering, assist with communion, and provide other assistance as needed during the service.  Teams rotate with each team ushering approximately once per month.

WELS Women's Missionary League
This women's group is a local chapter of the WELS Lutheran Women's Missionary Society and exists to serve Jesus by increasing awareness of, interest in, and support for the WELS mission outreach around the world. We also spearhead several service projects here at Bethany throughout the year.

Worship Slides Team
Run the worship slides during worship services! Volunteers help consistently on a schedule and generally serve once per month.
