CONNECTING YOU TO GOD'S WORD, GOD'S PEOPLE, AND GOD'S WORK
We want to meet you where you’re at.
We live in a broken and complex world. As a result of this and sin, our own lives can feel broken and complicated.
However, we have a solution we can’t wait to share with you.
That solution is Jesus.
He paid the ultimate cost of our sins and brokenness with his perfect life and sacrificial death, and showed his power through his resurrection.
It sounds too good to be true, but we assure you, it is both good AND true. We’d love to tell you more.
Please join us at 8:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. on Sundays or 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays for our weekly services, or Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. during Advent and Lent. Check our calendar to see our upcoming service times. Whether you know a lot about Christianity or very little, we want to meet you at Bethany. Let’s walk through the path Jesus took for our salvation together.
What to Expect at Bethany
-
Bethany is located at 404 Roosevelt St, Fort Atkinson, WI. We have a parking lot on the north side of our property. Street parking is also available on Charles St. and surrounding areas. Feel free to enter through any of our three entrances on our north, west, or south sides. Once inside, feel free to hang up your coat and then head towards the sanctuary area. If you have any questions when you arrive, feel free to ask our greeter, ushers, or pastors.
-
Feel free to dress however you are comfortable! You’ll find worshipers at wearing everything from suits to casual attire. Be relaxed or dress up – we are just happy you joined us.
-
We strive for worship that is more timeless than traditional, more diverse than contemporary. The focus will always be Jesus and the Bible. To make that happen, we are a church that follows an order of service—a liturgy. In the message and sacramental meal, in specially selected Bible readings, and in carefully crafted songs, prayers, and creeds, the liturgy proclaims the good news about Jesus from start to finish. Participate as you feel comfortable, and look to the pastor and ushers for any special directions during the service.
You can follow along with everything through our bulletin, available before you enter the sanctuary. Bulletins with larger fonts are available upon request. You can also follow along via the worship slides projected at the front of the sanctuary. Hymnals and bibles will also be available in the pews. -
In our Sanctuary, feel free to sit wherever you’d like, whether the front, the back, or even up in the balcony. If you have small children, we have reserved the back few pews for you if you wish.
-
We often celebrate the Lord’s Supper. If you’re visiting, we’ll politely ask you to abstain—for now. Here’s why.
Every other Sunday we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. This sacramental meal is an expression of unity, agreement, and spiritual intimacy between the people who have committed themselves to membership in this church body. That’s why we ask guests and visitors not to participate—yet. We sincerely desire that all who come to us will eventually join us in the privileges and responsibilities of membership. We also understand that no one can make that kind of commitment without proper instruction. To help people along that path of commitment we offer instructional classes that, upon completion, open the door to full membership in the congregation and participation in the Lord’s Supper.
-
We’re grateful you joined us for worship! Once the service is over, follow the ushers’ direction for when to leave the sanctuary. You’ll get a chance to meet with our pastors as you leave. Feel free to introduce yourself!
If you worship with us on Sunday morning after our first service, we’ll have snacks and usually a Bible study for you to attend in the fellowship hall, right across the hall. We also offer Sunday School for your children. Just ask an usher or pastor where Sunday School is for that morning. -
If you filled out our “Connection Card” during the service, we’ll be in touch shortly to answer any questions you may have. Otherwise, ask our pastors or any of our volunteers or staff members what we recommend if you’d like to learn more about our congregation and what we believe!
